J & A Mower Inc. is an authorized outdoor power equipment sales and repair dealership. We do not manufacture the equipment sold through our store and do not provide a separate J & A Mower Inc. manufacturing warranty.
Products purchased from J & A Mower Inc. are generally covered by the original manufacturer’s warranty, subject to the warranty terms, eligibility requirements, exclusions, and coverage period established by the applicable brand.
Manufacturer Warranty Coverage
Warranty coverage varies depending on the product brand, model, engine, intended use, purchase date, and manufacturer requirements.
Manufacturer warranties may cover qualifying defects in materials or workmanship that occur during normal and intended use. Coverage periods are determined exclusively by the manufacturer and may differ between residential, commercial, rental, and professional-use equipment.
Customers should review the warranty documentation supplied with their product for the exact coverage period and conditions.
Authorized Warranty Support
As an authorized outdoor power equipment dealer and repair facility, J & A Mower Inc. may assist customers with eligible manufacturer warranty claims for brands we are authorized to sell or service.
Our assistance may include:
- Reviewing the product and reported issue
- Confirming the model and serial number
- Verifying proof of purchase
- Performing manufacturer-required diagnostics
- Submitting warranty information to the applicable manufacturer
- Completing approved warranty repairs
- Ordering authorized replacement parts
- Helping customers understand the manufacturer’s claim process
All warranty decisions, approvals, repair authorizations, reimbursement amounts, and replacement decisions remain subject to the applicable manufacturer’s policies.
Submitting equipment to J & A Mower Inc. does not automatically guarantee warranty approval.
Typical Warranty Periods
Warranty periods vary by manufacturer and product.
Many residential outdoor power equipment products may include manufacturer warranties ranging from approximately two to five years. Commercial equipment may have shorter coverage periods, operating-hour limitations, or separate commercial-use terms.
Some residential wheeled Toro products may carry a limited consumer warranty of up to three years, while certain components, transmissions, accessories, or commercial products may have different terms.
These examples are provided only as general information. The official warranty documentation for the exact brand and model will control in all cases.
What Manufacturer Warranties Commonly Cover
Subject to the applicable manufacturer’s terms, warranty coverage may include:
- Defects in materials
- Defects in workmanship
- Failure of qualifying components during normal use
- Authorized replacement parts
- Approved labor for covered repairs
- Other remedies specifically authorized by the manufacturer
The manufacturer may choose to repair the product, replace a qualifying part, provide a comparable replacement, or offer another remedy permitted under its warranty.
Common Warranty Exclusions
Manufacturer warranties commonly exclude damage, failure, or service caused by:
- Normal wear and tear
- Improper operation or misuse
- Abuse, neglect, accidents, or physical damage
- Lack of required maintenance
- Improper storage
- Unauthorized repairs or modifications
- Use of non-approved parts or accessories
- Commercial or rental use when covered only for residential use
- Damage caused by unsuitable fuel
- Contaminated, stale, or improperly mixed fuel
- Fuel containing more ethanol than permitted by the manufacturer
- Improper oil type, oil level, or lubrication
- Corrosion, water damage, weather exposure, or environmental conditions
- Failure to follow the owner’s manual
- Products with altered, removed, or unreadable serial numbers
- Transportation, pickup, or delivery charges unless specifically covered
- Diagnostic or repair work not approved by the manufacturer
The exact exclusions for each product are listed in the applicable manufacturer warranty.
Wear and Maintenance Items
Routine maintenance parts and components that wear through normal use are generally not covered by a manufacturer warranty.
These items may include:
- Blades
- Belts
- Spark plugs
- Air filters
- Fuel filters
- Oil filters
- Tires and tubes
- Brake linings
- Cables
- Chains
- Batteries
- Lubricants
- Fluids
- Cutting lines
- Shear pins
- Other consumable or maintenance-related items
A wear item may qualify for coverage only when the manufacturer determines that it failed because of a covered defect rather than normal use.
Engine Warranty
The engine installed in outdoor power equipment may be covered by a separate warranty issued by the engine manufacturer.
Depending on the equipment, the engine warranty may be administered by companies such as:
- Briggs & Stratton
- Kawasaki
- Kohler
- Honda
- Another applicable engine manufacturer
Engine warranty terms may differ from the warranty provided by the equipment manufacturer. J & A Mower Inc. will help identify the appropriate warranty process when possible.
Maintenance Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for performing all routine maintenance required by the product and engine manufacturers.
Maintenance may include:
- Oil and filter changes
- Air-filter replacement
- Spark-plug inspection and replacement
- Blade sharpening or replacement
- Belt inspection
- Battery maintenance
- Lubrication
- Fuel-system care
- Seasonal storage preparation
- Other procedures listed in the owner’s manual
Failure to perform required maintenance may result in the denial of a warranty claim.
Customers should retain maintenance records and service receipts because a manufacturer may request them during the claim-review process.
Fuel Requirements
Customers must follow the fuel requirements stated in the product and engine manuals.
Using contaminated, stale, incorrectly mixed, or unapproved fuel may cause damage that is not covered under warranty. Fuel containing more than the manufacturer’s permitted ethanol percentage may also void or limit coverage.
Fuel-related repairs are covered only when specifically approved by the applicable manufacturer.
Proof of Purchase and Product Information
To request warranty assistance, customers may be required to provide:
- Original sales receipt or valid proof of purchase

- Customer name and contact information

- Product model number
- Serial number
- Engine model and serial number where applicable
- Description of the issue
- Maintenance records where requested

Warranty Claim Process
To request warranty support, contact J & A Mower Inc. before bringing or shipping equipment to our location.
Customers should provide the product brand, model number, serial number, purchase information, and a clear description of the problem.
Our team may inspect or diagnose the equipment to determine whether the issue appears eligible for manufacturer warranty consideration.
The process may include:
- Product identification and proof-of-purchase verification
- Initial inspection or diagnostic testing
- Review of maintenance and operating conditions
- Submission of the claim or repair request to the manufacturer
- Manufacturer approval, denial, or request for additional information
- Completion of authorized repairs or another approved remedy
Repair work will begin only after any required manufacturer authorization is received.
Diagnostic and Non-Covered Charges
Customers may be responsible for diagnostic, inspection, transportation, pickup, delivery, storage, labor, parts, or repair charges when:
- The manufacturer denies the warranty claim
- The problem is not caused by a covered defect
- The equipment requires routine maintenance
- Damage resulted from misuse or improper fuel
- The product is outside the warranty period
- The required repair is excluded by the manufacturer
- The customer declines a non-warranty repair after diagnosis
Any applicable charges will be explained to the customer where possible before non-warranty repair work is completed.
Transportation of Equipment
Unless specifically covered by the manufacturer, customers are responsible for transporting equipment to and from J & A Mower Inc.
Pickup and delivery services, when available, may require an additional fee.
Customers should not ship equipment to J & A Mower Inc. without prior authorization and instructions.
Warranty Decisions
The applicable manufacturer has final authority over warranty eligibility and remedies.
J & A Mower Inc. cannot guarantee that a claim will be approved and cannot change, extend, or override a manufacturer’s warranty terms.
A manufacturer may approve:
- Repair of the covered component
- Replacement of an authorized part
- Replacement of the product
- Reimbursement under its established limits
- Another remedy stated in its warranty
A manufacturer may also deny a claim after reviewing the equipment, documentation, maintenance history, or cause of failure.
Returns and Warranty Claims
A manufacturer warranty claim is different from a standard product return.
Returns requested within the applicable return period are handled according to the J & A Mower Inc. Return and Refund Policy.
Equipment that develops a problem after the return period may be handled under the applicable manufacturer warranty, provided the product and issue qualify.
